Forward Formations: Students Celebrate the Life of Jack McWhorter

Students once under the tutelage of Jack McWhorter come together to celebrate his life and legacy through a shared exhibition. Jack was a prolific artist, and each student created a work of art based on one of his pieces that will be on display.

Coalescence

A collaborative exhibition between photographer David Dingwell and impasto painter Melissa Goff. David and Melissa are resident artists at Patina Arts Centre and have worked together on several projects during 2022. This collection of work showcases their individuality as well as their collaborative works.

Plein air and Figurative Oil Paintings by Timothy Herron

Timothy is a figurative artist, portrait artist, and a plein air painter. He started The Pretentious Cleveland Portrait Artists alongside Brian Pierce. This is a collection of work made from real life observations including portraits, landscapes, and figure studies.

Sam is a multifaceted artist and designer working in a variety of mediums. Having a background in graphic design, she mixes classic design principles with analog materials. Sam Lilenfield’s work is often color-forward, an escape from how grey the world can feel around us.

Tying Threads Yarn Explosion

The Yarn Explosion Artists first blanketed Court Ave in summer of 2022. Using swatches of knitted and crocheted fabric, they encouraged all who saw it to "imagine" possibilities. This year the summer 2023 theme led the group of artists to crochet over 50 "splats" representing paint splatter, and the creative process. The aim was to inspire people to "create" possibilities.

Masking the Male Form: a Celebration of the Queer Body

Jonathan is an artiste multiforme, and is considered a master mask maker by artists and teachers worldwide. Jonathan is dedicated to community building and organizing with  Canton’s First Friday and the Stark Pride Festival Planning Committee.

Scott is an artist and photographer whose work has been shown throughout Northeast Ohio. His paintings often have mythical themes, along with nearly abstract spacescapes, while his photography focuses on nature and textures.

Sacred Arcanum

This group art exhibition features four artists inspired by the 22 Major Arcana of a Tarot card deck. They have rendered their interpretation of a selection of tarot cards using distinct styles and mediums.

A Community Collaboration

We are inviting the community to explore their own creative side and take part in the fun. Brush, spray, or splatter paint across canvases. Draw, trace, or paste objects on wood panels and other objects to add to this collective art project.

RustBelt Rescues

in Partnership with the Stark County Humane Society

Over 30 artists working in a variety of styles and mediums create portraits of pets at the Humane Society of Stark County. These pet portraits feature cats, dogs and even birds who are ready to find their forever homes, as well as animals who have been successfully adopted.
